We Work Hard, We...Rest Hard?

Our DCS team works hard, week in and week out. It’s the nature of the business – we strive to always be there for our clients when and where they need us. Not to mention that the public affairs world rarely follows a tidy 9 to 5 schedule.

But we also recognize that there’s more to life than work, and that our team deserves time to rest, recharge, and maybe even turn off our phones and laptops for a while (ok, we’re working on that last one). It’s important for our mental health, it’s important for job satisfaction, and ultimately it’s important to our clients: we do better work when we’ve had a chance to breathe.

That’s why, starting in April, we’re kicking off what we’re calling DCS “Take a Break” Days. One day each month, in addition to employee holidays, sick days, and PTO, our entire team will collectively take a day off. All of us.

We’ll also be letting our clients know in advance, so that we can plan accordingly. So to that end: our first DCS Take a Break Day will be Friday, April 21. So what is our team planning to do to mark the occasion? A whole lot of nothing – and that’s the point.
