Vacation Town: Big Summer Plans for Our DCS Team

As we officially enter the dog days of summer, our DCS team is gearing up for some major vacation adventures – even if those “adventures” involve doing, well, not much at all. Check out what our team has planned below!

John

Every year, for the past 22 years, John and his family have gone to the beach in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. And if you ask him how he feels about that (or the beach in general), he’ll generally respond with a grumble and an “I do what I’m told.” But he is very much NOT a beach person, and will be the first to tell you that he would prefer some vacation variety.

HOWEVER, we’re happy to report that this year, the Denny family is finally making a slight change…sure, it’s still a beach, but this year in a little town called Wellfleet in Cape Cod. They’re there as we speak. Stay tuned!

Anna

Anna has two excursions coming up: the first to Watkins Glen, NY to hike, chase waterfalls, and celebrate a friend’s birthday and the second to Portland, OR to hear some music, visit with old friends, make a pit stop at Powell’s, and explore the Rose City.

Of course, there is always room for suggestions, so if you have any must see places or food stops for either Watkins Glen or Portland, she’s all ears!

Darya

Darya’s going to the home of Yogi Bear and the giant sequoias: Yosemite National Park!

They’re most looking forward to the gorgeous views, fun hikes, (possibly) some exhilarating climbs, and most of all, spending quality time with their best friend who lives several states away. What’s better than fresh air and good company?

Charlie

Charlie and his wife Sarah aren’t going too far afield for their summer break – just two hours down the road.

Of course, when you live in southern Spain, “two hours down the road” is, uh, the Portuguese coast. So fair to say Charlie won’t exactly be suffering by sticking close to home during his two weeks away (July 24th - Aug 4th). When he asked him what his plans were, he just mumbled something about “beach” and “books” in between bites of seafood. He’ll be fine.
