DCS Intern Spotlight: Meet Isabel Lam

Isabel at Gov. Shapiro’s inauguration ceremony.

We’re excited to introduce you to our awesome new spring Communications & Policy Intern, Isabel Lam (she/her)! Isabel is from Scranton, PA and is a current junior majoring in Economics and Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. She’s got a ton of school pride as she currently serves as Pitt’s Vice President of Operations on Student Government.

In her free time, Isabel loves baking (fruit tarts and chocolate soufflés currently), skiing, tennis, and watching the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She is so excited to learn as much as she can from the team and our amazing clients, and can’t wait to meet everyone!

And here’s a deeper cut on Isabel…

Q: What public policy issues are most important to you, and why?

A: Women’s health as a whole, but with a specific focus on menstrual equity. Women make up roughly half of the global population, yet women’s health is severely underfunded and researched. I have been passionate about menstrual equity efforts since high school and change for affordable and accessible menstrual products begins with us!

Q: What is one fact about you that would surprise people?

A: I am in a Disney+ TV Show - ‘Growing Up’!

Q: And, because we're all about food at DCS, what is your favorite place to eat in Pittsburgh? Do you have a go-to order?

A: Cafe 33! It is my go-to spot, especially when I am missing home cooked Asian food. Ask for the Crispy Pork Chop Noodle Soup and you won’t be disappointed!
